Laser Therapy for Pain

FAQ

What Is Therapeutic Laser Therapy and How Does it Work?

Laser Therapy is the application of laser light over injuries or lesions to improve wound / soft tissue healing which gives relief for both acute and chronic pain.

Therapeutic Laser Therapy utilizes lasers to alter light giving it the power to penetrate skin and drive healing energy into the tissues. The main therapeutic effect of these lasers is to stimulate the repair and healing process of an injury or wound. It has also demonstrated the ability to significantly accelerate and enhance the body's natural defenses while reducing the pain. The effect is photochemical (like photosynthesis in plants) The laser aids the production of ATP thereby providing the cell with more energy which in turn means the cell is in optimum condition to play it's part in a natural healing process.

What Does Therapeutic Laser Therapy Feel Like?

Most people feel nothing at all during the treatment, while some may feel a slight tingling. Our lasers will generate a slight perceivable heat. Therefore, when the laser contacts the skin, the patient experiences warmth as a result of the laser

When Should I Feel the Results?
The healing effect of laser therapy is often noticed within hours after each treatment. Also, Laser Therapy is cumulative which means that each visit builds upon the one before. IS IT SAFE? Therapeutic Laser Therapy is safe and painless. In fact, after many years of clinical use in Europe and Canada, lasers have been found to have no adverse effects.

How Long Does It Take?

Treatments may last as little as 5 minutes or as long as 15 minutes.  While some patients get some immediate results in just one or two treatments. Others may require several treatments before there is a noticeable effect.

Are the results long lasting?

Therapeutic Laser Therapy is about healing. It's not about masking or covering up a condition. When you feel better from this therapy... it's because you are better. Therefore results have been found to be quite long lasting..

How much will it cost?

The cost of Laser Therapy is $75.00 per session. The number of sessions is largely dependent on the severity and type of your problem.
For this reason, our offices offer a courtesy consultation to determine what it will take to help your condition.

What Can Therapeutic Laser Do For Me?
Diminished pain, reduced inflammation, and decreased edema, faster healing times and increased strength of repaired tissues. Laser Therapy heals a wide range of conditions including: soft tissue injures, degenerative conditions, arthritic issues, neurogenic conditions.

Health Benefits of K-Laser Class 4 Laser Therapy

Basically, three things happen during K-Laser treatment. First, treatment helps reduce pain, reduce inflammation, and enhance tissue healing—both in hard and soft tissues, including muscles, ligaments, or even bones.

When looking at the basics of how it works, we are enhancing the microcirculation or Angiogenesis, the creating of new capillaries. We are getting more red blood cells flowing to the area. More blood means more nutrients and gives the cells the things it needs.

The  laser also enhancing the lymphatic return from the area. As well as increasing oxygenation to the tissues lasered.

Finally, the treatment stimulates the cytochrome oxidase enzyme in the cells’ mitochondria. By stimulating the cytochrome oxidase enzyme, we are utilizing that oxygen in the respiratory chain inside of the mitochondria, producing more ATP for that cell. So regardless of what kind of cell it is, it’s going to function at a higher level. The Klaser is not making your body do anything that it could not normally do. It just speeds up the process. We are helping those cells produce the energy that they normally would, so they can function as they normally should.

The Class 4 K-Laser treatments are amazing. They are so effective at treating a wide variety of conditions, whether it is soft-tissue injuries, acute injuries, or nerve damage

K-Laser treatments virtually have no side effects.

What About the Healthy Tissue, is it Changed?

This is really one of the key discoveries in the whole science of laser therapy. Specifically, injured cells are targeted because damaged cells are more readily accepting of photons of light, whereas healthy cells don’t need this extra energy.

The interaction that we’re getting in the body with the K-Laser is called a photochemical reaction. By shining the class IV laser light on a tissue, we are getting that ATP energy produced, which speeds up the healing process.
